Mike McCarthy is out as head coach of the Green Bay Packers.The team announced the move on Sunday evening, following their 20-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.McCarthy spent nearly 13 years as the head coach of the Packers, putting up an overall record of 125-77-2 for a total winning percentage of 0.621. That span included nine winning seasons and eight years with 10 or more wins, as well as six division titles. The Packers made four NFC Championship Games during his tenure, going 1-3 Vince Biegel Color Rush Jersey , and they won Super Bowl XLV following the 2010 season.However, issues on offense over the past few years became too much for the top brass to ignore. The Packers finished 7-9 in 2017, when quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed nine games, but the team still finished in 26th in total offense and 21st in points scored. 2018 is arguably even worse, as the Packers sat 17th in points and 10th in yards despite Rodgers starting every game. Philbin returned to Green Bay this offseason as offensive coordinator; he served as the Miami Dolphins’ head coach for a little less than four years from 2012 to midway through the 2015 season.Team president Mark Murphy made a statement about the move, thanking McCarthy for his years of service to the franchise. He added that the team will begin its search for a permanent new head coach immediately.
